Biography

Diane Lane is an Academy Award nominated American actress who was born on January 22nd 1965 in New York City.

Diane is the daughter of Burt Lane (Acting Coach) and Colleen Farrington a playboy centrefold. Her parents divorced when she was very young as so she was raised by her father.
At the age of just 6 years old Diane was already acting professionally and had appeared in Medea and The Cherry Orchard whilst studying at La Mama Experimental Theatre in New York.

By the age of 13 she had made her film debut in the movie ‘A little romance’ alongside Sir Laurence Olivier and had appeared on the cover of ‘Time Magazine’ by the time she reached 14.
She began known as part of the so called ‘Brat Pack’ in the 80’s for her hits in the back to back movies The Outsiders and Rumble Fish. Over the next couple of years her films began to flop with ‘Streets of fire’ and ‘The cotton Club’ doing nowhere near as well as they were expected to.
However she made a comeback when she starred in the 1989 TV Mini Series ‘Lonesome Dove’ and was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance. She then went on to star in ‘Walk on the moon’ alongside Viggo Mortensen.

In 2002 her performance in the hit movie ‘Unfaithful’ won her an Academy Award Nomination and in 2003 her next hit film was ‘Under a Tuscan Sun’.
She is rumoured to be appearing as ‘Jane Jetson’ in the upcoming ‘The Jetsons’ movie but there has been no official confirmation as yet so keep checking back.

Diane Lane’s personal life has seen her involved with many great stars. She has dated Rock legend John Bon Jovi and was married to actor Christopher Lambert from 1998-1994. The couple had a daughter together during this time, they named her Eleanor Jasmine Lambert and she was born on September 5, 1993.

On August the 14th 2004 Diane Lane went on to marry actor Josh Brolin.
